The final matches of the Daventry Netball League have been played and the results have produced the first change in League winners for over six years. Results of the final matches were, Helix 20 versus DW Ladies 29, Helix began well and started the second quarter just ahead but DW pushed on and with some aggresive centre court play they took the win, this result saw them finish 9th in the league just above Helix who finished 10th. Next on court were Ashmore 25, against G&T's 39, with both teams fighting for top position this match was extremely competitive throughout, G&T's accurate shooting and excellent defence meant they took the win and the League title. Ashmore Tornadoes were league runners up. The final match of the season was Grafton Gate Ladies 32 against Barclaycard 37, another excellent match to watch which could have gone either way but Barclaycard just managed to edge ahead to take the win and finish joint third in the league with Hornets. Grafton Gate Ladies finished the season in 6th place.

The full League positions are as follows:- G&T's winners, Ashmore Tornadoes 2nd, Hornets and Barclaycard joint 3rd, Alma 5th, Grafton Gate Ladies 6th, Moulton Meerkats 7th, PMT's 8th, DW Ladies 9th, Helix 10th and Cummins 11th. Well done to all teams on a very successful and enjoyable season with a big thank you to all sponsors, we now look forward to 2010/2011. The Leagues awards night also saw new winners for the following categories:- senior player was Cath from Grafton, junior player was Emma from Alma, most improved senior was Monica from Cummins, most improved junior was Tasha from Grafton and the Nikki Shooters Trophy went to Jo from Barclaycard.
