Northants County Excel

The aim of the Northants County Excel Programme is to provide support and education for identified athletes at U14 and U17 level, to enable them to have the best opportunity to access the first step on the Regional athlete pathway This programme will run over a period of 9 months with fortnightly training sessions of 2 hours, currently in Northampton and South Northants.

We are looking to create Satellite groups in each District. This year sees the introduction of the newest Satellite in South Northants. We also provide the development of Coaches, Umpires, Scouts and Administrators via a mentoring programme, if you are interested in being mentored please contact Kelly Walker.

IDENTIFICATION

Each district are requested to identify athletes to be screened through affiliated schools and CAPS accredited clubs only (aged between 11—16 years) and The County Association to identify Coaches, umpires, Scouts and Administrators. These coaches should attend an England Netball Excel and Talent Identification Workshop, which will train them in the understanding of nationally agreed performance criteria of a potential talented netball athlete.

The screening process will be held on one day, usually in June, per age group, involving assessments against the Performance Criteria
