Northants County Talent Programme
2009/10 Talent Programme
The aim of the Northants County Talent Programme is to provide support and education for identified athletes at U14 and U17 level, to enable them to have the best opportunity to access the first step on the Regional athlete pathway East Midlands Talent Development Programme. This programme will run over a period of 9 months with fortnightly training sessions of 2 hours, currently in Northampton.
We are looking to create Satellite groups in each District, these will become a new step on the Northants Player Pathway. We also provide the development of Coaches, Umpires, Scouts and Administrators via a mentoring programme.
IDENTIFICATION
Each district are requested to identify athletes to be screened through affiliated schools and CAP’s award clubs only (aged between 12—17 years) and The County Association to identify Coaches, umpires, Scouts and Administrators. These coaches should attend a Performance Standards Workshop which will train them in the understanding of nationally agreed performance criteria of a potential talented netball athlete.
The screening process will be held on one day, usually in December, per age group, involving assessments against these Performance Standards.
